Thailand has, over the past few years, seen a large increase in the number of private villas available for holiday rent. Here we investigate the villa market, and make our recommendations as to how to find and book a villa, and where to stay on your next holiday.

The village of Salado, between Austin and Waco on Interstate 35, is a very historic community that emphasizes an interest in the arts, education, natural beauty and scenic attractions. The longest continually operating hotel in Texas, the Stagecoach Inn, is in Salado, and the hotel is known for its excellent restaurant and historic setting.

Because the Lake District has so many good hotels it's hard to choose a few to recommend. Yet some stand out by virtue of their quality, their location, and their unique blend of luxury and location. Our first choice is located a few hundred feet above perhaps the most beautiful lake in Britain - Windermere.

A lesser known area of England to many Americans visiting for the first time is Dovedale, in the Peak District National Park. This incidentally was Britain's first national park, established in 1951. Dovedale is a popular destination for many thousands of Brits each year. A renowned natural beauty spot for its spectacular views, fresh water trout fishing along the river and amazing limestone rock formations and caves throughout the area.

Among the pioneers and luminaries named to the California Hall of Fame in 2008 is a woman whose vision and skill make her a giant of architectural genius, though she stood but five feet tall. Julia Morgan's work adorns California from the Bay area and far beyond, crowned by her most famous work, the design and construction of Hearst Castle that hovers over San Simeon Bay.
