The Inn at Woodstock Hill offers 22 beautiful rooms. We recently had the honor of staying in a room with a strikingly charming 20 foot high ceiling, antique and period reproductions and a four poster canopy king sized bed. Big windows provided wonderful views of the open land and hills beautifully framing the backyard. We later realized that modern amenities also existed such as cable television, videos, a telephone and computer jack, but none of that interested us much. We were strictly interested in doing nothing, which is ultimately everything.

If MLB expects to continue to be referred to as America’s Pastime, it will need to do a far better job of recruiting right here at home, where there still remain a ton of great athletes from the black community. But they will not find them on Capitol Hill or in ivory towers, but rather in their very own backyards.

We are lucky that cats are naturally clean. We still have to be mindful of kittens who look to us to provide them with their private space and appropriately clean litter box where they will feel happy. Kittens need their privacy and clean litter boxes otherwise they will not use them. In addition, it is wise to take care of older cats who may become incontinent or sick, and to provide them with appropriate medications and care.

When we're back in historic Jacksonville, Oregon, we will head straight to the Nunan Estate, a short walk from the town center.
